ABOUT BEARPEAK
ABOUT THE COMPANY
At BearPeak, our clients make a deliberate choice to live close to the mountains, embracing a lifestyle that values both quality and connection to nature. Our high standards in architecture and thoughtful designs—both inside and out—are crafted for those who appreciate a refined and purposeful approach to mountain living.
We design and build our own residential communities, ensuring a streamlined construction process that delivers a high-quality, cost-effective solution from start to finish. Working closely with local contractors and artisans who share our passion for exceptional materials and craftsmanship, we create homes that reflect the character and beauty of the region. For our clients, this means a close, hands-on building process and an opportunity to contribute to the local economy and regional sustainability.
Mountain living is our specialty. We excel at placing our projects in prime, scenic locations, offering you a functional, inviting, and enduring mountain home that also represents a solid investment. Perhaps it’s your dream home.
BearPeak. The key to a conscious life close to the mountains.
Discovering the Need
Every business starts with identifying a need, a business idea, or a reason for its founding—maybe not always polished or written down, but always present.
What BearPeak’s founder, Anders Ahlqvist, discovered was something personal: an adventure with family, living and thriving in Åre. From this, combined with his passion for architecture, attractive locations, and efficient construction, Anders’s idea took shape, and he founded BearPeak in 1989. The goal was to create living spaces that allow more people to spend time close to the mountains and to own homes in desirable mountain locations.
"When I moved from Malmö in southern Sweden to the mountains, my goal was to create true quality of life.
I want to create something special that’s hard to find elsewhere. In my home, I want beautiful natural materials, with exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. This builds a sense of harmony with the surrounding nature. Such a home only becomes more beautiful with age, and as it ages with a fine patina, it harmonizes even more with its natural surroundings. A beautiful home designed by skilled architects is often timeless—stunning now and still stunning in 50 years."
- Anders Ahlqvist, Business Developer and Founder, BearPeak AB
The Mountain Life
More than any other Swedish regions, Jämtland and Härjedalen are characterized by their mountains. These mountains and the mountain lifestyle attract both locals and tourists. Life in the mountains is something unique—it has a different rhythm, a different pace, and different priorities. The softer values of life are evident here, and many choose an active lifestyle defined more by “outdoor” than “indoor.” Go for a run through the forest and up the mountains. Practice yoga with the mountains as your backdrop. Try an adrenaline-filled skate skiing session. Or carve the first tracks on the freshly groomed slopes.
Those of us who live here are creating a vibrant, curious region with an inclusive energy and inspiring visions.
